DVD Recorder

I recently bought a Matsui DVD recorder for use with my Freeview Box, Tivo
and VCR but after a month I still cannot get it to work with my system. I
took it back to Curry's (UK) who showed me that it worked on their TV but
that was just with the DVD and TV, so no Tivo.

I connected in place of my original DVD player and connected the aerial at
which time it took over my TV completely and would not let Tivo work at all.
I tried reconnecting my freeview box, Tivo and DVD Recorder in accordance
with my Tivo manual, that is connecting the DVD Recorder to the VHS scart
outlet on the Tivo and could not see the Tivo Window or anything
to do with the DVD Recorder. I have tried connecting the DVD recorder as
suggested by the Curry's Technical Man. when I took it back to the store and
he had it working just with a TV, but that does not work either. It appears
as if it might be conflicting with Tivo and my Freeview box but when I spoke
to the Tivo help line they seemed to think it should work with Tivo if I
connected in accordance with their manual.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can solve my problems.

I can't even tell how you tried hooking it up from this mess. So I'll
assume you have 3 recording devices you want to hook to 1 TV. One is a
standalone tivo, another a freevo PC, and another a standalone dvd
recorder. I also assume this is for OTA broadcast and you have a coax
downlead cable. So here's how I've got mine hooked up. From antenna to a
signal amp with dual outs. One goes elsewhere and one to my stuff. I've
put a 3way splitter on my single downlead and connected onto to each of my
recorders, an old VCR, a tivo, and an RCA 7000N HDD recorder with built in
DVD player. Form the vcr I connect to the tv over the coax. from the tivo
I connect to the tv AV1, and from the rca to av2. That;s it, simple. I can
record 3 shows at once plus watch live TV with the VCR in bypass mode. If
I to record from the tivo or rca to tape on the vcr I'd need to run av
cables from the tivo to the vcr too. Assuming you're wanting to record
from the tivo to one of your other devices, simply run an output of the
tivo to an input of whichever to record in real time.

The OP is in the UK with a UK TiVo - the tip is 'SCART', we don't use
that in the US but they do in the UK.
