DVD to PC 5.1 not working

Hey guys im trying to connect DVD speakers and use em as PC speakers but only the front two work. I have clicked 5.1 in the Audio Manager and clicked on PROLOGIC II on the DVD but the two rear speakers make an "ssssssssss" very quiet and wont play sounds boofer and center are also quiet.

Note that dvd is 10 years old and back then i used the dvd with all 5.1 sound but now when i tried using it with a CD it was only working in stereo.

my mobo is AsRock h110m supports 7.1

Your DVD has stereo input only. In order to get 5.1, the DVD itself should have this function to artificially generate signals for back, center and woofer.
