Dvdrip movies question

Hello i have a question regarding those dvdrip movies. I have been searching for some movies on torrent sites and most of them are dvdrip but those movies always have some random resolutions like 720x304 and so on and mostly aspect ratio 2.35:1. Dvdrip stands for copied dvd movie right? But those are in 720x576/480 resolutions and 1.85:1 so why aren't these too? I need them like that but only pal torrents are dead

1. It's illegal.
2. DVDRip, means that the source is DVD, but the quality is not have to be the same. Usually it's lower.
