DVI Alert

I got a new home theatre set up with 55 inch Sony, blu-ray, Pioneer elite receiver, definitive tech speakers...when the geeks left I got a message as follows: DVI Alert-your HDTV does not support HDCP-please use YPrPb component connection to watch TV. Can someone translate. The geeks say it's a cable problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I find it hard to believe that a new 55" Sony is not HDCP compliant, so I'm thinking (for whatever reason) that it's DVI connection is not HDCP compliant, but your component connectors are.

Your Blu-Ray player should have RCA connectors (Yellow/Red, Blue, Green for video and Red and White for audio). Use these to connect your Blu-Ray player to your HDTV.

Hope this helps

You should be using HDMI connections only for TV, BluRay, Receiver - if you paid Best Buy geeks, they should make it right - something is very not right here - if you can't use HDMI you will never get full HD quality.
