Most of these recommendations are just terrible horrible awful recommendations. It is very foolish to buy an 8GB MacBook of any kind. Yes they have virtual memory but it wears out the flash very quickly and the computer may last as little as 18 months. All but three of these recommendations are the 8GB type and should be avoided at all costs! If you buy 16B or more ram your system will not be paging to flash and the flash will last potentially several years longer!

My son used a MacBook Air with 8 GB this summer and he said it was doggy dog terribly slow and he never wants another 8 GB machine for the rest of his life!

If you wear out the flash in your computer Apple will not repair or replace the flash memory for any price and they have locked up the repairs so that nobody else can do it either so your machine is ruined! Buyer beware!

This is a money-making scheme from Apple - sell machines with too little RAM, wear out the flash, and then they can sell you another machine right away!
