Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner - is it dead?

I have an Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner - has been working great. Mid-scan it turned off and program ended. Tried turning off and on - red light blinked, then light went off completely. Powered off and on again - green light on for 15 seconds - then off. Powered computer off and on, and disconnected and reconnected everything with scanner, no lights. Is it dead?
