Hello All,

First time post here, I have a projector with 2 hdmi ports, my blu ray sound system has 1 hdmi port and an optical digital audio port. My question is how do I get my cable box to play the video through my projector but the audio through the blu ray system? Current setup is Cable box hdmi to projector (for video) and Cable box optical digital audio to blu ray system's optical digital audio. I get video, but the audio keeps coming out of the projectors built in speakers. Help please.

Solution
Your hookup seems to be correct.
Try accessing the audio menus of the cable box. It may not be clearly labeled but one of the settings will support surround sound output from the optical output. Stereo audio may still come out of the projector so just turn the volume of the projector all the way down.
You can call your cable company if you can't figure it out.
If there is no way to do it on the cable box then you need one of these:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011412&p_id=10251&seq=1&format=2
to extract the audio from the HDMI connection.
