Ethernet not working

I am trying to boot up with my flash drive. It boots fine but once I am into the FD my ethernet no longer works. What can I do to fix it?

More info is needed, boot up what with what type of flash drive? Are you talking about installing Windows with a drive or something else? Need full details. And what is FD?
