ExpressionEngine, Safecracker and CAPTCHA

Hi people,

I have an ExpressionEngine 2.5 Safecracker form, with CAPTCHA seeming to be forced enabled despite the fact I uncheck it in Safecracker options (add-ons > extensions > Safecracker options). Each time I uncheck the box and click the submit button, box becomes re-checked. And the icing on the cake is that the CAPTCHA doesn't even appear on the page anyway so people can't enter the word if they wanted to! This is the error I get when submitting the form by the way:

The form you submitted contained the following errors
You must submit the word that appears in the image
You did not submit the word exactly as it appears in the image

Sounds like CAPTCHA to me?

Anyone know if there's a config file where I can force this disabled? Or actually add CAPTCHA to the form if necessary?

Crawl through all the configuration files that are part of the project and see if anything stands out.

That or create a new one, and just copy/paste the core parts of what you want, leaving the broken part in the old project and archiving it with ZIP or something just in case you need it later.
