External hard drive

I have a laptop hard drive and i use it as an external hard drive... before it used to work on my lg 47" led but since i formated it does not... is there any file i can put in my hard drive to make it work on my led again.

Every TV does it differently, am afraid, and this is soooo scary, u have to consult the manual. It has info on exactly what u need.
