This is not terribly important, but it certainly would be nice to be able to view calendar data stored in an old mswkscal.wcd file, which was the calendar data file of MS Works. The Works version I was running on my XP machine years ago was Works 2000 (Works 5). The data I have stored in the file are partially of a diary-like nature, but not of such a large extent.

Can Works 5 be installed and run on a Windows 7 machine (or Windows 10), or is there another approach to extracting data from the mswkscal.wcd file which I have kept?

Thanks for the input, hang-the-9 and kanewolf.

When I try to install Works 2000 on my Windows 7 machine, I am told by the Works installer that it must install Explorer 5, if it is not already on the machine, and there seems to be no way to choose not to install Explorer 5. I fear that installing such an old version of Explorer will cause me problems. Can you or sombody else tell me if that fear is well founded or not?
