Facebook update crashing and freezing Samsung Galaxy S3?

Every time I get a notification from Facebook my phone drops whatever it was doing for a second. If I was typing I have to reopen the keyboard. I think it might be causing me to drop calls. It is very annoying. It isn't just messenger, it is every FB notification I get. Facebook just updated then the problems started. I am guessing that is causing the problem. Does anybody else have this issue?

Do you have enough space on your phone? For sure try to reinstal the facebook apps once.
