Factory ResReset Alienware Laptop Taking far too long

So I decided to try and factory reset my computer to try and speed things up by re-downloading the important files and clearing out all the junk ones I had. I started it at 11 p.m. last night and as of now it is 9:00 p.m. and it I only at 39%. It specifically has been on 39 for arund 5 hours now. I know it should take a while, but this is absolutely incredible at how slow it is. And now I'm a bit concerned as to why. At this rate it very well could take an entire week. Any explanations or suggestions or anything?
And just in case anyone wonders, it is not frozen. It has a spinning circle similar to such that appears as your cursor as a Web page is loading.

Are you running factory recovery from a set of recovery discs, or from the factory recovery partition on the laptop's hard drive?
