Why is on screen display reading "out of range ?

Hello , i'm using a tablet . When hdmi cable connected to TV , message on TV reads , " out of range " ?? I'm receiving sound but no picture . Have tried 4 different cables . Each one , same message , any ideas ?

That can happen if the resolution of what you are trying to play on the tablet is higher than what the TV can handle.

If this is what is happening, try lowering the resolution of the stuff on the tablet to be at or below what the TV can handle and that should fix your problem.
