Now when are they doing something about the Viagra spammer sites ?

They are violating more than a 'copyright'.
They are either providing prescription medicine without a legit prescription or fake Viagra, Valium etc ( ah, there is your copyright/trademark violation again).

I get far more spam mails for Pills and Rolex than I get for invitations to download Apps (actually never have gotten one as far as I recall).

[citation][nom]nebun[/nom]doesn't the FBI have better things to do?[/citation]
like taking down mega upload and aggressing Dotcom? Yes they have plenty of work to do... (sarcasm)
It's kinda scary to see the last FBI news we heard are more or less always about protecting companies, as a non us citizen I have a question, is it the original goal of FBI? Or did that goal changed? Or maybe FBI does a lot of other things we don't hear about, but if so why is there no communication about those actions?
just wondering...

Ha! Serves them right... (Possibly) profiting from other people's hard work and probably even causing loss of revenue for the same people.

When one goes down, many more pop up in its place. It's an uphill battle, and telling someone they can't do something is the absolute best way to get them to go do it. All this anti-pirate crap just encourages them. My thoughts on the matter? Just let it be.

Seriously? It's 2012 and you're still getting spam? Are you still on AOL? What major mail provider are you with that doesn't have a spam filter implemented?

If you don't think it's a ridiculous punishment, than the penalty isn't steap enough to be a deterrent.

If I were you, I'd start using a 2nd or 3rd email account for online sign ups, newsletters etc for tech (I use Yahoo for that junk, and never ever touch that mailbox, use my other emails for personal and useful registrations.

When anything requires me to enter an email as a mandatory field I always set them up with a secondary account that doesnt get forwarded to my phone or anything else.
The only time I really need to log into those extra accounts is when I forget my password to some websites. Saves me from getting spam on my regular email account.

Should have also mentioned, for times that I do get spam or random emails, I always mark as spam and blacklist them from my inbox so I never receive them again.

If i cant afford something i wont be able to buy it at least i can say i love it and tell other people and maybe they will be able to afford it.

All this hurts is people who get paid lots of money any ways.

[citation][nom]idroid[/nom]FUUUUUUU i am gonna pirate everything!!!!!! screw the FBI.... i am a bad ass naah just kidding... even if i don't support pirates i love them... they give away stuff for free that cost (for some less fortunate people) a lot of money, I've (like everyone) pirated a few stuff but just for the feeling of "i can get away with anything" that it gives.... seriously, pirating is not that bad although you shouldn't do it because people who sell that software have worked their asses coding the programs they sell us they should be paid for their work.[/citation]

awesome, tell that to adobe, maybe a consumer level but not gimped version of cs would come of it...

seriously, most of the pirated software is ungodly expensive and is only really marketed at businesses and the pro realm.

or is software that is universaly used by damn near everyone, to the point that it comes bundled with many things, and at that point, you pirating it doesn't matter much at all.

any game or app that gets pirated, its not that you made a bad game, its a few factors
cost of game... do people think its worth it
drm... will people put up with it
is the game good... would people pay for it
are you a tech demo game... looking at you crysis and witcher, most people didn't pirate it to play the games, they want a tech demos, and at least in crysises case they locked all the graphical options out of the demo.

you make a 1% far noise app, people will buy it but dont complain that 95% of the people pirated an app of 16 sound effects that took 3 hours to make.
