So, i managed to mess up my laptop charger's cord, right below where you have to plug it in. The wires are pretty exposed and i found that moving it, sometimes makes it spark. I decided to get a replacement, because i dont have anything id need to fix it myself. I tried searching for the same exact charger for my laptop, but i couldnt find it. So i just wanna ask if i just bought a charger from the same series (Toshiba Satellite L55W-C) though not exactly the same model, would i be able to use it and not break my laptop or something? Thnx for your response(s)

All the laptops I remember looking at in recent years use 19V bricks. As long as your new adapter is of known origin (stay away from no-name units), has the same plug and equal or slightly higher output rating, it should be fine.
