I upgraded my EliteBook 8440p to Windows 10 recently and everything went smoothly. My scanned was working fine for a few days and it recently stopped. When I start the computer it shows the option to sign in with a fingerprint but doesn't register that I'm running my finger across. I downloaded and reinstalled the scanner tool. It updated and had me rescan my fingers. I thought that maybe it would be fixed but it still doesn't register that I'm swiping my finger. Any ideas?

Hi,

I've checked HP support site for a compatible BioMetrics driver for your laptop but they don't have it yet for Windows 10. But do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Do uninstall/reinstall the Validity Fingerprint sensor driver from Device Manager.
- Once you've uninstalled it just reboot your laptop and it will reinstall the driver automatically.
- After the installation do setup your finger print again and see if it will work again.
- If these will not work do try these troubleshooting steps from HP Support site.
