I have a kindle fire with an audio jack. Have a lot of music on it, would like to play music through usb connection on car stereo, however when I bought an audio to usb cord the audio jack would not go deep enough into kindle fire jack to transfer music. Anyone have any suggestions? Also all the headphone jack had two dark lines and the Jack I received had three lines on it.

If by "USB connection on car stereo" you meen a place where you plug USB flash drives with music, no cable will help you. I don't have my Fire with me, but you can try plugging ordinary microUSB cable - one end in Fire, the other end in the car stereo, and hoping that your Fire will behave like an USB flash drive.

YOu will have much better chances by using ordinary 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cable, plugging it into your stereo' AUX input.
You can't use just a cable to convert analog audio from your Kindle into digital.
Did you try using the USB cable that came with the Kindle? It might work although the controls on the stereo wouldn't operate the Kindle the way they would for an Apple product.
Does your car stereo have an aux jack. That would need a cable with stereo mini plug at both ends.
And yes the adapter cable you got is for special applications and would have a plug with three lines if it was for video and 2 channel audio. Hope you didn't damage the jack in the Kindle.
