Fire stick and surround sound

I just got a fire stick and am wondering how I can get it connected to my surround sound. I have a Sony blue ray surround sound, with only 1 hdmi and that plugs straight into the tv. I also have a dvr that is plugged into the 2nd hdmi on the tv with a digital optical cable going from the dvr to the surround sound. My vhs is plugged in by rca cables to both the tv and surround sound. The firestick will work if it is plugged inot the tv, but will only have sound from the tv. Can I buy an hdmi to component cable and plug it into the surround sound? Or am I stuck with just the tv sound?

Bdve770w/t77 is the Sony blue ray home theater system model and the tv is a Vizio gv47l fhdtv10a. I also have the channel master dvr

Your TV has an optical audio output. You can use that if your TV passes surround sound (may require selecting it in the TV menu). Plug the optical cable into the TV instead of the DVR and you should get sound from anything connected to the TV and the internal tuner. You may have to turn the optical output on and the TV internal speakers off. You can find the TV manual here

Another option is to use an HDMI switch with audio extraction like this one

You can plug all HDMI sources into it. The HDMI out goes to the TV and the audio out to your Sony. Will give you more HDMI Inputs too.
