Fire stick tv and wifi

I have wifi and now have Fure stick with kodi. Cbs app wants a net work why

Is the app on the stick or is it a Kodi addon?
It may want to know which CBS affiliate you want to log onto?
A lot of stuff on KODI doesn't work for many reasons.
