Firewall | Ping goes up

Should I turn off my firewall while playing online games? Because I noticed that when my online game is starting, my ping goes up but when I close the game the ping suddenly goes down again. Why is that?

your ping depends on where the server is located.the farther away your server the higher the ping times.and no,do not turn your firewall off.
