I was wanting to know anyone's thoughts on the msi gt72s dominator pro and if it was the best laptop for gaming around $2000.

It's better to purchase from a dedicated gaming PC site, as the prices are lower for the same exact models. I bought my laptop from Xotic PC. I searched for an MSI with basically the same specs as yours (I customized it, you can customize it to by looking at the specs for the laptop you want and selecting the same or similar specs), and came up with basically the same laptop from the same brand, but that costs $400 less.

By the way, to get an HDD and an SSD, you need to select the option for "M.2 Slot 1" under "M.2 SSD Drives" so that you can add a secondary drive.

Also, don't hesitate to chat, email, or phone their customer support (the chat is available directly on the page). They can make sure your build is set up right so you choose the specs that are right for you.
