When I first got involved with FTA=TV back in '03 I selected the
"Fortec Lifetime" as my receiver of choice. The "Ultra" had not been
released to the market place at that time.

My main interest was in receiving the PBS Feeds on AMC3.

I have since purchased an HDTV set and I now have access to four
local over-the-air PBS feeds so I don't use the FTA set much anymore.

The PBS feeds via FTA carry audio only as Dolby-digital so the
Fortec was one of the few sets available that could handle AC3
digital audio and that was the thing that drove me to Fortec.
I did have some problems with the PBS audio but I was able to
live with it. I had to put up with intermittent short duration
audio dropouts. Sometimes It would go for hours with no dropouts
and sometimes there would be dropouts every 5-10 minutes. It
seemed to depend on the program that I was watching.

I don't know whether the "Ultra" had this problem .... or not.
If I bought another FTA receiver now I would probably switch
to some other brand but other brands may have the same problem.

Good luck with your purchase and I hope you enjoy FTA-TV.
