You specs seem old however you say that you are playin nicely, a recent change of software in your system might cause this... or a gpu driver setting.

Yeah, I am aware of that. But it should be good enough to run at least the Telltale Games smoothly, should it not?

EDIT: Games run stable apart from the fps-drops.

Actually, It depends on the engine they were created and their optimization,However those annoying lag spikes happens to me sometimes, I do a system restore to avoid any changes made on the system.

Yeah, really annoying.

When the drop happens, the game does not freeze, rather it feels like I am playing in slow motion for 1 to 2 seconds and then back to normal.

You can monitor your CPU and RAM usage.

What if it is because of the app you are using? Try another game. Something with a good optimization

Been playing for an hour now, and I have not noticed any fps-drops so far. Guess I just have to realize that my specs are not good enough then?

Your specs are not good, yes you should realize that :) however it is not that bad. You should keep this in mind the game's optimization might not be good for your specs as well.

If you were not having FPS drops before with telltale games, I can only recommend you to re-install your OS nice and clean. Something might be triggering your system or game that you are not aware of.

Lastly, You should be thinking getting a better system. I am all finished with options :(

And now I am getting some fps-drops. Could it be a temperature problem? Should not get drops in a game like Torchlight II.

You have come with many suggestions, really appreciate that, Metalwell!

You can try to update all of your drivers, GPU and MOBO, This might help this issue to resolve.

Might just found a fix.
Read this tips online:
Turn on "vertical sync" in all games to keep max fps at 60(assuming 60hz monitor). Turn on "triple buffering" in NVidia control panel. Let me know if that helps.

And it seems to work. Feel a slight fps-drop, but not anything like I did before. And the gpu core graph is stable now, the drops there are gone as well.

Got any clue why this solved the issue? At least is seems to be solved, will test more tomorrow.

V-Sync does not allow the game to exceed your monitors framerate(60hz), and triple buffering forces to hit the 60hz, to sum up. This might really help you this. I dont know why I could not think of that before.
