So I know playing games on a laptop is not ideal. But I've done for the past two years, and I think I'm pretty fine with it. However, there's been these drops in my games, that annoys me. ( I mean I'm sure FPS drops are annoying to anyone)
I've been searching around the internet, and the only thing I saw that would make sense is the temperature.
If this problem is related to over-heating, do you think that if I buy a good cooling pad, it will... solve this problem. Also, could you please reccomend some cooling pads?
Thank you.

Monitor the temperatures and see whether the CPU and GPU are throttling (they probably are).

If it is due to temperature then re-paste it with any good thermal paste. Personal experience.
