Frame Rate problems with my Laptop..Help Please.

Hi.

i´m machine is the following: Nvidia GeForce 9400M G, 4 GB ram DDR3, Intel Core Duo 2.2 Ghz.

Since like two months ago, i´ve been having some frame rate problems on playing videos games. I know my laptop is not exacly top of the pile, but all the games i have, start playing fine with not slowdows at all, but then they start slowing down to like 15/20 fps per second. Some years ago, i had some problems with this and it was my CPU temperature, i figured that when it got to 75 C it caused this, but i solved it and this time it´s not the case because it´s always between 62 and 68 C. My conclusion is that it is the GPU temperature, which is quite hot, even on idle, and i don´t have an idea on how to decrease it.

Clean you laptop out. If you dont know how, google it

Hi,

You can do 2 things:

1- Open the laptop and replace the thermal paste on the gpu
2- Buy a chillmat and see if it helps.

What games are you playing?
Do you play plugged in?
Drivers up to date?
What games are you playing?
Is the power configuration set to no power saving ?

You can use HWInfo32 to relay your temperatures to you. The system usually does not throttle CPU or GPU at 70 C - 80 C.
