For those that are unaware, if you are a student or staff/faculty member of an educational facility, Autodesk (AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Maya and other software maker) offers FREE software. All you need to do is sign up on their site with your .edu email address and you can download their software for FREE!! I got 3ds Max and Maya (a good $7000 USD worth of software).

You can also get Microsoft software cheap under the same rules (.edu email). Windows 7 Pro for $64.95, Office Pro for $99.95 and others.

I know Adobe has the same discount program, but I've never used it.

I thought some people might benefit from especially the Autodesk link. Never would have thought a company would give software away for free. I've used MS before for Windows and Office. My contribution to the poor folk like myself for the day, hahaha.
