Solved! Free word processing application

Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a word processing application to create and edit documents. I know the go to application for this is microsoft word, but unfortunately microsoft word doesn't function properly on my computer. Each file gets corrupted and I'm getting tired of this happening. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a word processing application where I can do my work without the save corrupting.
