Full Range Speakers With Headphones Resets on restart

I have soundblaster z and hd 598 headphones. I turned on 5.1 and checked full range speakers and surround. When I restart the computer the 5.1 setting is still on but full range speakers and surround are unchecked. Do you know why those settings become unchecked when I restart the computer?

I figured out the answer. It's the creative software. Whenever it loads it resets it back. All you have to do is disable all creative processes in msconfig. That includes anything in the startup AND services tab.
