G230 On Cable Controls problem

I have a beaten up Logitech G230. Its on cable controls seems to be damaged. When I control the audio level from there It creates noise and distrupts the balance of audio causing one ear to have more audio. Is there a way I can fix it by hand or remove it totally?

guess you could cut the volume control off and replace it--would imagine you can find one on ebay

or just cut it off and rejoin cable and use volume control on pc/device

or use one of these and just leave the volume control as it is assuming you can get it to produce the sound properly
