Hello, I have the above stated laptop and I'm looking to upgrade the SSD/HDD. I've never disassembled a laptop before but I did watch a video posted by ASUS on how to do so. I just don't know which drives to get that would pair up with it. Now I'm not really having an issue with HDD space but my SSD got filled really quick. Now when I bought this laptop it didnt come with a boot disk but I do have some extra copies of Windows 7 from my desktop that i could use, right?

Specs:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 3 GB
Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50 GHz)
16 GB Memory
1 TB HDD
256 GB SSD

Solution
The easy thing to do would be to clone your current ssd to a larger ssd.
Samsung has a ssd migration aid that will do the job.
Buy a 500gb or 1tb Samsung evo as well as a usb to sata adapter cable.
Use the migration app to copy Your 250gb ssd to the larger ssd.
When done, remove the 250gb ssd and replace it with the newly cloned ssd.

I am assuming that your laptop has a 2.5" conventional ssd.
If the ssd is a M.2 format, then you would need a usb to m.2 adapter cable and a m.2 device.
