well their userbase is the same, missing that 3.5mm is a problem and not a feature.

I'd be completely fine with this personally, the stereo speakers would be great and I use Bluetooth headphones so it wouldn't make a difference.

This reminds me of the PS Go for some reason. Everyone complained about Sony getting rid of the UMD reader, yet looking back it was an obvious move that pushed technology forward.
I could probably think of countless other examples like this over the last few years.

If you're upset about this, I don't think you've actually used modern Bluetooth heaphones. Give 'em a go.

Not everyone wants to buy extra gear when what you have is adequate. No value add for me to take away a perfectly good option to save a few pennies per phone, these are high end expensive models, I expect all the options to be there.
