Galaxy S9 missing emojis

My emoji button is not longer working. I can see it and click on it but no emojis show up. How do get them back?

Have you tried restarting the phone (turning it off and back on)? Also, did you have any updates or newly installed apps just prior to this? If so I would look at uninstalling the update/app, then restart the phone and see if this resolves it.

NOTE: I am referring to ones used by the phone itself, not in a specific app. If you are referring to this happening in a specific app only, then you would have to contact that apps creators.
