When I go into manual mode to reset it skips every other row so can't click yes to delete data and reset. I hope someone can help.

Have you tried changing the orientation? Try it in all four directions...

It stays in landscape which ever way I turn it.

Pull down the notification bar (the black bar on the top) and make sure that screen rotation is selected. Then automatic rotation will be enabled.

I can't do this as it's just locked to galaxy tab 3 start screen.

Can you open settings from the menu? If you can then select Accessibility from the left side (comes somewhere at the end), and in that the first option should be Auto Rotate screen. Check that.
