Gaming + External Monitor = Wont load games on monitor

So recently I decided to buy a monitor and a keyboard for my Asus Laptop. Mostly for quality purposes I wanted a bigger screen and better keys

Im posting this because the monitor works fine. It shows my desktop I can brows the web, watch youtube/streams. But when I try to play league of legends it will open the launcher and then when I try to open the actual program it just doesnt open. I think the main problem is that the monitor isnt recognizing my NVIDIA card(or vise-versa) and will only use my integrated graphics card.

I have tried going to the resolution settings and making the monitor my main display and what not but nothing will work

I have an NVIDIA GT 745M

try disabling your built-in screen, so only your external monitor is active

is your game lauching at a resolution thats supported by both the monitor and the laptop's external connection?
