Currently searching for a laptop around 800 that:
- Doesn't have any overheating problems without a cooling pad
- Can run modern games on medium-high graphics with all the little graphic settings turned off like anti aliasing.

I looked at the lenovo y510p and people say it's not worth it if you don't use SLI, but if you do then you need a cooling pad or it will overheat.

Any other laptops?

I will tell you, any laptop I link for gaming for people I always link a cooling pad because its safe to have so you dont overheat it. Go for the Lenovo. If you want to spend more then I'd recommend the rolls Royce of gaming laptops- Sager. But Sagers are expensive, simply because of their reputation, but not expensive like Alienware.
