1. What is your budget?
$1800, including warranty
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
17-18.4. 18.4 because of 6970m crossfired. What would you say?
3. What screen resolution do you want?
The most popular among gamers, 1920x1080.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
I'm looking for a gaming rig, hello.
5. How much battery life do you need?
About 20 minutes under BF3, just to carry it to a friend.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
BF3! That's pretty much it for a couple of months... And, if it can handle BF3, it should handle 99% of all other games.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Photoshop, but extremely rarely and just basic stuff. 3ds Max, Vue (landscape creating program).
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
I'd go with 32gb, just need it for those programs and BF3.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Don't care, just any reliable one, with good support.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
At least 5 years, possibly up to 10. But cmon, I'm not Rockefeller...
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
DVD Writer, have no use for BD.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Hate HP & Dell (excluding Alienware, but as cheap as $1800 and as good as being able to play BF3 with a minimum (!) framerate of 35 FPS. It will be playable, right? Not like with 20 FPS or less..?). Sager, Toshiba , and other good brands are welcome to the list. Been to XoticPC, nothing interesting, at least I did a rough review of the laptops. I created similar thread a couple of weeks ago, but nobody responded me the way I wanted.
13. What country do you live in?
USA
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
My parents are kind of don't want me to "spend my life in front of the computer" (I have a $350 laptop now, definitely won't handle BF3. Forget about desktop, as it needs to be mobile). I don't want to get the desktop cpu class laptop out there either, seeing as they are very expensive. I just want a laptop that can handle current games moderately and is somewhat future proof. I want the Sandy Bridge, since it seems to be more effecient. How stupid it wouldn't sound, but I found somewhere that on full settings, 6990M runs it on 16 FPS. They show average speed, as usual. Ehm... Won't 6970 CrossfireX work better? What I'm asking for is a great gaming laptop for little money, to be able to play BF3 at next settings:
1920x1080, Ultra, No AA/AF (well, I mean I don't really care if there will be AA/AF or not, all other settings shouldn't change)
If you need extra details, please ask. And again, FORGET ABOUT DESKTOPS, please!
