I am looking for a gaming laptop so my girlfriend can play games with me while at home and when she stops over my house. She is reluctant to spend more than £600 but willing to go higher as if I can find anything else than the laptop I am posting with the specs under this paragraph which costs £865.

MSI GE70 2QD(Apache)-837UK
Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ Quad Core Processor
17.3" Full HD Screen
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
8GB DDR3 RAM
1000GB 7200RPM HDD
DVD Rewriter
Dedicated GeForce GTX 950M 2GB Graphics
USB3 | HDMI | Bluetooth
2 Year MSI Warranty
9S7-175912-837

So could people suggest me a cheaper alternative that has 15"+ display and has the hardware to play most games at least at medium to high setting on a decent frame rate. She wants to be able to play GTA V, Boarderlands pre-sequel among other games. As she would be getting these games of steam and downloading them, I guess a big enough HD would also be a good addition to store them.

Hi MrChrissyD, :)

There are a wide selection of Laptops on the market for different purposes. Luckily, I found some laptops that suite the specs you posted.

I noticed your currency is British Pound so I tried my best to keep everything in your currency.

The list is in order for the most affordable, to the little bit costly, but not a deal breaker.

The best you could probably get is the Gigabyte P15F V2-CF1 15.6-inch Gaming Notebook (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-P15F-V2-CF1-15-6-inch-Bluetooth/dp/B00K8QZGSC/ref=psdc1_t1_B00OE46NNG_B00K8QZGSC), its the most expensive of the 5 but not by an arm and a leg.

The first set is on amazons United Kingdom inventory:

First is the Acer Aspire V3-571G 15.6-inch Laptop, the weakest of them...

The first set is on amazons United Kingdom inventory:

First is the Acer Aspire V3-571G 15.6-inch Laptop, the weakest of them all, it will struggle to preform well with how graphically intensive GTA V is and some others.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aspire-V3-571G-15-6-inch-Bluetooth-Graphics/dp/B00B0TLP8G/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1430724901&sr=1-4&keywords=Gaming+Laptop

Second is the Lenovo Z50-70 15.6-inch Full-HD 1080p Laptop, Its a bit underwhelming but it will play GTA V from low to medium setting.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Z50-70-15-6-inch-Full-HD-Laptop/dp/B00LLE6S8M/ref=sr_1_14?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1430724394&sr=1-14&keywords=Gaming+Laptop

Third is the MSI GP60 2PE-664XUK 15.6-Inch Leopard Gaming Laptop, basically a cheaper version of the fourth selection.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-2PE-664XUK-15-6-Inch-Leopard-i5-4210H/dp/B00STTI952/ref=sr_1_20?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1430724901&sr=1-20&keywords=Gaming+Laptop

fourth is the MSI GP60 2PE-483UK Leopard 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop, Good speed and performance, should be able to run GTA V from low-high settings.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-2PE-483UK-Leopard-15-6-inch-i5-4210H/dp/B00P1151HK/ref=psdc1_t3_B00STTI952_B00P1151HK

Fifth is the Gigabyte P15F V2-CF1 15.6-inch Gaming Notebook, It is the most costly by going over your £600 limit by £200. Its the best of the 5 and it will run pretty much anything you throw at it with minor change of settings.

I tried my best to get you accurate prices and get you the best price to performance ratio, but if you want to look further you can check out some of the prices based here in America so you can find a laptop say on eBay or continue searching on amazon.

Next set of laptops are price based in America (USD)

I hope I helped you find a laptop of your choice. Its difficult to find gaming laptops that are not a huge deal breaker, you caught me when I'm also trying to find a laptop similar to the one your looking for :)

Anyways, good luck finding a latop for your girl friend!

Are you specifically looking for a laptop? You can also go for a tablet as it is quite compact and perfect for playing games. I have recently bought the Spidotech Sleek W1. The features are very good and most games run smoothly.
