If i buy gaming laptop does it can function as general purpose too?

Yes, a gaming laptop is just the same as any other apart from it usually has a proper dedicated graphics card which is capable of playing modern games at good frame rates. It doesn't change anything else or prevent you from using Office or browsing the net.
