Gaming Laptop Help

So I am not going to pretend like I know anything about gaming laptops because I honestly know nothing. All I know is that my laptop that is a year old cannot run a golf simulator software that I have at all. Even at the lowest resolution it takes forever and lags like crazy. The simulators website says it needs a laptop that has
Quad Core processor.
8GB of ram
GeForce GTX 770 graphics card
DirectX: Version 9.0
1GB of available space on hard drive
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible.
Any suggestions, also, I am student and would like to possibly use the gaming laptop for both gaming and school. Thanks for the help.

My budget would be the cheapest to run those specs to about $1200 max.
