Gaming laptop

Hi, im looking for a gaming laptop is the 1000 dollar price range, i'm willing to go up to about 1350 as im selling off all of my consoles and my old desktop, I honestly don`t care about screen size, but I am definitely looking for 1080p. Batterry life is not an issue, I don't need an ultra portable, just something that I can still take to be plugged in when I travel. Im looking to be able to play games such as battlefield 3 on high settings, and want to be able to max out less demanding games such as mass effect 3. I have had experience with many low end cards, and am looking for a minimum of a gt550m (1g 2g 3g i don't care) Storage is of no issue, though anything around 500gb would be appreciated. I would like to be able to use this for gaming for about 2-3 years before I make another major upgrade. I'm a massive fan of Asus, but I have no objection to other brands. I live in Canada, so I don't mind paying for states shipping, as long as it doesn't put me way over my budget. I am willing to go a little bit higher if needed, but I would prefer to stay as low as possible. Thanks.

Actually with a gt540m i can run it very fluently on medium, with texture detail on ultra, it is considered a relatively weak card as well, I'm sure overclocking would get me better results, but I'm not planning on doing that on a loaner. I don't have it for much longer, so it would be much appreciated if someone would give me a few options. Im simply much too busy working at this point to search myself

Sean, take a look at Sager's NP8130. It offers a lot of what you are looking for. The nVidia GTX 560M gets approx 37 FPS in BF3 on high, which isn't great, but playable. Check scores for BF3 and others here:

I didnt cr*p on him...I just told the truth....

I hate amateurs who browse a few sites and THINK they know what a lappy will do from a few specs...

I am a pro and help a LOT of people here and I spend a fair few hours a week, giving back some of my knowledge....

If you dont believe me...look at a few of my posts...

Hes STILL wrong and even you admit 37fps....I play FPS AND HAVE DONE SINCE THE 90`S ..and 37 fps...lol we are not talking HL1 on an ATI 256 mb card

I will be purchasing an Asus utilizing the gt560m. http/www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1219111&CatId=4938 Lord behold, its only $1250, and perfectly meets my price range, and, (wait for it)....can play bf3 on high without "spending 1000 or 2000 more". IMO for that money you get a laptop, a 'gaming laptop' is something else entirely.

Currently the best bang for buck gaming laptop is the barebones from MSI. you can get it configured at many resellers.

With GTX 570M and quad core CPU for roughly $1200, this machine can run BF3 at 1080p, high, no AA for around 30-35 fps.
This is a 17inch model. The 15 inch model is tad cheaper.

I have a feeling someone is in for a BIG letdown. If portable computers were capable of the same performance as desktop computers there would be no desktop computers today. They aren't and they never will be. I strongly suggest you reconsider selling off all your equipment to be replaced by a "gaming laptop". You will be disappointed.
