1_What is your budget?
Preferably under $1200, however i can go to $1400 hard max (only if that $1400 laptop will be far far superior to the ones under $1200, i would prefer not to spend that much)
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
anything really, i am using it for college but it will mainly stay on a desktop since (from what i hear) most teachers at the school don't allow laptops to be brought to the classroom.
3_What screen resolution do you want?
The best i can get for the money.
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
As noted earlier it will probably end up being a desktop replacement laptop, i might bring it to the library or something, but..
5_How much battery life do you need?
i doubt i'll be there for more than a few hours, and if i am i can plug it in. So i don't need too much battery time (1 or 2 hours i think will be fine)
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
World of Warcraft, Dragon Age Origins, Company Of Heroes, and Oblivion mainly (preferably on High/Ultra; i admit i don't know if that is feasible though)
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
Word documents/excel/powerpoint, nothing special
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Not much at all, over 200 gigs is overkill. I never go above 150g on this computer.

For four years. On this, i have a question, my father told me laptops usually don't last very long; is this true? Is there any way i can extend it's life? and about how long will they usually last? (thanks for answering all these questions)

I apologize for this post, i was hoping not to spam your boards with another laptop related question. I searched through the forum for a while but i ended up just getting more and more laptop choices ( i have eight tabs open, all with different laptops). The more choices i got, the more confused i got since i don't know too much about laptops. Hopefully you guys can help narrow the search down for me.
