Gaming/Music Production Laptop

So I'm looking to buy a laptop from Xotic and I don't know what to get...

My budget is at $800-900 right now

My friend told me to get this ($900)
MSI CX61
4th Gen Intel Haswell Core i5-4200M 2.5GHz-3.1 3MB Intel cache
NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M (2GB)
8gb DDR 1866MHz Kingston HyperX CL11 Dual Channel Memeory

but I'm looking at another laptop that's around 850 -
Sager NP4658
4th Gen Intel Haswell Core i7-4710MQ (2.5GHz-3.5GHz, 5mb intel smart cache
NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M (2gb)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual channel memory

The 2nd one seems better but my friend told me the first one has a better price/performance ratio

what make your friend think tht the 1st one is better?

that Sager i7 laptop has lower price and better both CPU and GPU
i7-4710MQ 4 cores 8 thread has noticeable performance advantage over i5 2 cores 4 thread

I don't know but the first laptop has some kind of diamond thermal compound and a copper heatsink added to it at that price, does it do anything? It would cost me 100 to get that on the 2nd laptop
