Gaming with my laptop

I have a new Dell laptop with an Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM and an AMD Radeon 8670M 2GB graphics card, however when I try to play the Witcher 2 the framerate is rubbish and unplayable. Any suggestions? Judging from the required specs I thought this laptop would be good for playing slightly older games but it really struggles.

First thing when gaming on a laptop, keep laptop on a hard, flat surface to ensure airflow through the bottom vents, restricted airflow will cause the CPU and graphics to throttle quickly. The use of a cooling pad may help along with setting your power settings to performance (at least for gaming)
