Get rid of battery learning on Compaq presario 2500 laptop

This is driving me crazy!!! Every time I boot up , I have to undergo the battery learning torture. I have replaced the battery and after 4 or more learning sessions, in a row, I might add, it is still putting me through this nonsense. I cant get anything done because it take hours. Is there anyway to disable this accursed device? Presently, I ready to use the computer as a target.

Check out the programs list in the control panel and see if it is there. If so, uninstall it.
