Solved! Good DAC for gaming/discord

I am looking for a DAC that is recommended for playing games and talking on discord, my motherboard audio has issues and I am under the assumption that I can get a DAC that will allow me to plug my headset(sennheisser gaming one) into to bypass my motherboard issues.

Is there a simple but good DAC that I can plug into that would support this scenario and would a DAC help me bypass audio/mic issues from my motherboard?

You would need a USB DAC headphone amplifier.

That would bypass the mobo audio. It would not affect the mic at all since that would still have to connect to the PC mic input.
A soundcard would be needed to bypass the onboard audio. Might be a better solution since it's for gaming not music.

Part of my issue is that my mic will randomly spike in audio or it will be too quiet, these I believe are symptoms of the motherboard, would something like the schiit hel or sound blasterX G6 be an all in 1 solution for both desktop audio and mic input?

I wasn't familiar with the Hel. I would go for that unless the G6 has a feature or processing that would enhance your gaming.

The Fulla will also be good and cheaper than the Hel if you don't need a more powerful amp for your headphones.
