I'm a student and looking for a laptop with great portability but still capable of decent gaming

1. What is your budget? Possibly below USD1k but I'm ok as long as below USD1.5k

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 13.3" to 15.6"

3. What screen resolution do you want? any will do

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? portable would be great

5. How much battery life do you need? as high as possible

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Batman: Arkham series, COD, Battlefield, Bioshock Infinite etc... My old laptop can support low at best so looking for one that can go at least to medium

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) photo editing (occasionally)

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? above 500gb for hdd, as high as possible for ssd

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? as long as possible

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? not really needed

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. had bad experience with Acer so no Acer (poor quality)

13. What country do you live in? USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Backlit keyboard, touchscreen is optional, RAM at least 6gb, going for i7 if possible with dedicated gpu, try to avoid models with reported heating problems

BTW when's the best time to get a new laptop? Now considering the back to school promotions or during black friday?

Thanks

There are not very many ultrabooks with dedicated graphics. Using the filters on Newegg's website. There are only two ultrabooks with dedicated graphic in the 13.3" to 14" range. Both have the Radeon HD 8750m GPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD. Since they are business ultrabooks they come with Windows 7.

Acer TravelMate TMP645-MG-6429 Intel Core i5 4200U = $1,199

Acer TravelMate TMP645-MG-9419 Intel Core i7 4500U (1.80GHz) = $1,599

No mention of a backlit keyboard. However... 2 out of 3 reviews have complained about heat (the i7 version). That probably is a deal breaker.

It's $1,066 with the OS.

However, by default the laptop ships without an OS so you must scroll down until you get to the OS section to actually have it installed.
