Good video editing sofware for a noob?

Hi everyone.
I have a JVC HD-300 Full HD video camera. I want you to advice me about software than I can use to edit and montage the videos I take and to make them into a DVD (that plays on any DVD player)..Please know that I'm new to this stuff and I'll appreciate it if you suggest an easy to use and noob-friendly software!

Which one of those is the simplest to use..All I need is basic editing.

Sony Vegas is the easiest one. You should be able to add basic effects and edit it without any "training" but if you can, there are plenty of great tutorials in both text and video form. Good luck!
