So? There are 600,000 new registrations on Skype everyday. That can happen when you give something out for free. At least Skype wrote it's own code and thus has the courage to take ownership of it.

"310 devices from 36 OEMs" @ 100 million activated + 2 billion app downloads.

Compared to 1 device, from 1 company @ 100 million sold + 10 billion (legal) app downloads.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

While I'm at it, let me also add that the platform is iOS which only supports 1 phone and crappier versions of the same phone.

Exactly why Apple will fade away as soon as iTards figure out that the iPhone is exactly that, a fad, and there much better options out there. Jobs has no imaginiation and doesn't know how to be innovative. History will repeat itself and they will fire Jobs as soon as the iPhone stops selling and he can't come up with anything else.

Google gains momentum steadiley and as long as they adresses the concerns like the few manfacturers that are slow to updates their android devices, I dont see that they are slowing down in the future either. It will be intressting to see how the market looks in 1-2 years from now.

I wish not for Jobs to go away, or for Jobs' minimalistic view or controlled environment. I only wish for Apple fans to not see everything he drops as perfect and instead wish for more, even if it is more controlled experience and prettier case. As long as they admit it, it should be fine. But instead, with apple fans (and I have a few colleagues) it is like: "why do I need multitasking?" when Android fans tease them. And then when multitasking came to the iOS, they go: "oh I need to upgrade, I need multitasking". That's the image of Apple fans I don't like. Not all Apple fans are like that, I know. If they defend the need for single task as they used to (no need to worry about background draining processes) and the controlled app store (no risk for viruses, no risk for me ruining myself with porn, etc.) I would say: glad you take a stand and push for it, so the device providers focus on what the users want, even if not normal to my viewpoint, and fill the requests.
Right now I wish for a phone that can have a battery time of 30 days or more.

Sure they'll fade away. I guess I'll sell my Apple stock and invest somewhere else, since I should clearly be taking advice from an Apple hater posting in an online forum over real facts.

I only wish I could put $100 doen on a bet with you and come back a year leter to collect.

I accept your bet. If from now till eternity you have Apple never failing, you win. If at some point in the future Apple ceases to exist, I win.

In April 2010 Apple only had 50 million iphones (total) sold.
Which makes me wonder, where do you get your figures from.

And you, sir, missed the point of mine. Although, in your defense, my point wasn't very obvious.. It was a kinda "See how annoying it is, to come in guns blazing all anti-apple type?-type statement" Yeah. :/ It gets annoying from both ends.. doesn't it? :p

If 100 million phones is a "fad" then I would just love to know exactly what you consider a non-fad to be. 100 billion? Get real.. Of course, that's not saying Apple might crumble one day, but if it's stock is any indication.. That won't be for some time to come. Or when Jobs dies/moves on. Whichever happens first.

Just to name a few. A couple seconds on google would have saved you from asking a rather pointless question, as you would have seen the info literally plastered everywhere..
