Lately my google chrome has become very slow and oes not access internet

I'm also having the same issue. Not just with Chrome though. This problem recently started for me.
I have removed all extensions, turned off hardware acceleration, done a deep scan for virus and malware, uninstalled Chrome. Nothing seems to make a difference.

Not sure if windows update may have caused it......

Other machines in my home are loading pages quickly - just this machine - Windows 8.1

Frustrating.....
